About

ABOUT

Megan grew up in Indianapolis with an imagination that could rival Leslie and Jess in Bridge to Terabithia (with a less traumatic ending, hopefully). She would always have stories dancing around in her mind. She couldn't shut them off. That is, until she discovered that writing them out created a little world within her own that, once released, would start a new, ever-changing tapestry of characters and plots. Maybe it's undiagnosed ADD, or hyperphantasia, or something else, nonetheless, she started harnessing it's power to be used for good instead of evil.

Megan K Luke

Megan has been known to say she loves words. The way they feel in her brain and roll off of her tongue. Learning new words, and discovering interesting things about the ones she already knows gives her goosebumps. Sometimes she wishes she had synesthesia so that she could see the color of each word, or taste them, or touch them. She knows that it may seem odd but she insists that if someone doesn't understand, those are just not her people.

Her ability to see patterns and that love of words has both helped and hindered her love of reading. Even when she's reading for fun, she picks up on spelling, grammar, and plot errors.

Currently, Megan is exclusively reading Indie and Self Published authors in an effort to "show them some love." She knows first hand how difficult and time consuming it is to transcribe, edit, format, design, publish, and market the stories in our noggins. She enjoys giving those writers a sale and is proactive about writing reviews for them. She knows the value in having well thought out appraisals to drive more people to their work. She has a SubStack where she posts the full-length review, a TikTok where she does a short evaluation, and then, of course, she does a short write-up for Amazon and Goodreads, as well.

Megan also has a home studio for voiceover work and audiobook production where she narrates, edits, proofs, and does basic mastering. This is where her background in theater comes in handy. She loves exploring her vocal range and emotional depth while also using the technical side of her brain to edit and master her work.

As an avid reader, it was a natural transition into copy and developmental editing. She does it accidentally when she's reading for fun, so it just made sense to add it to her list of professional skills.

Whether it's for fun, to edit, or to narrate, she looks forward to reading your work.
